“NDLEA OFFICER GOES VIRAL AFTER WARNING: ‘ICE WILL DESTROY YOU, WEED WE CAN TREAT’”
A video of a National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) officer has sparked widespread conversation online after he delivered a blunt, no-nonsense warning about the dangers of drug abuse—specifically crystal methamphetamine, popularly known as “ice.”
Speaking to a gathered crowd, the officer broke down the difference between the effects of cannabis (weed) and ice, making it clear that the two substances pose very different levels of risk.
He explained that while cannabis can cause temporary paranoia, panic attacks, or hallucinations, these effects usually fade once the substance exits the body.
But he stressed that crystal meth is a whole different level of danger.
“Ice is more deadly than weed. I would advise you to take weed rather than ice. Because when you go mad after taking weed, we can treat you.
But we can’t treat you after taking ice.”
According to the officer, meth-induced psychosis often cannot be reversed, making the drug one of the most dangerous substances in circulation today.
The clip has since gone viral across social media, with many Nigerians applauding the officer’s honesty and straightforward approach to drug education. Others say his message reflects the alarming rise in methamphetamine abuse in different parts of the country.
The NDLEA continues to warn young people about the devastating mental, physical, and social consequences of hard drugs—urging families, communities, and schools to join hands in prevention and rehabilitation efforts.
