The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested 38 suspects in Kano during a coordinated operation targeting drug peddling and substance abuse across the state.

Officials said the arrests were carried out in multiple locations following intelligence-led raids on known drug hotspots and distribution points.

According to the agency, various quantities of suspected illicit substances were recovered during the operation and have been secured for further investigation and analysis.

The NDLEA said the crackdown is part of ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking networks and reduce substance abuse, particularly among youths in the state.

Authorities added that the suspects will be profiled and prosecuted in accordance with the law once investigations are completed.

The agency also reiterated its commitment to sustained enforcement operations, warning that drug dealers and traffickers will continue to face strict legal consequences.

Residents were encouraged to support anti-drug campaigns by reporting suspicious activities within their communities.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
