NDIDI REFLECTS ON BESIKTAS’ 3-2 ISTANBUL DERBY LOSS TO FENERBAHCE
Wilfred Ndidi has expressed disappointment after Besiktas suffered a 3-2 home defeat to their Istanbul rivals, Fenerbahce.
Besiktas took an early 2-0 lead through goals from El Bilal Touré and Emirhan Topcu, but the game turned after Orkun Kökçü received a red card, shifting momentum to Fenerbahce, who came back to secure all three points.
Ndidi admitted that the red card incident affected the team’s rhythm and contributed to their loss.
“The match was going well for us. We even took a 2-0 lead. When we conceded a goal after the red card, the opponent gained momentum,” Ndidi told beIN Sports.
“We wanted to stay in the game and showed fighting spirit. We just need to build on that. We know we have quality, and it’s important that we all stay united.”
