NDC CANDIDATE CONDEMNS BANDIT ATTACKS IN FOUR KANO LGS
The Nigeria Democratic Congress governorship candidate in Kano State, Aminu Gwarzo, has condemned recent attacks by suspected bandits in four local government areas, calling for urgent action to protect residents and their livelihoods.
Gwarzo, in a statement by his spokesperson, Ibrahim Shuaibu, expressed sympathy with victims and their families, particularly residents of Chiromawa in Garun Mallam, Beli in Rogo, Bebeji and communities around Gwarzo.
He urged the government to strengthen security operations, intelligence gathering, surveillance and rapid-response mechanisms in vulnerable rural communities to prevent bandits and other criminal groups from establishing footholds.
The candidate warned that persistent insecurity could force residents to abandon their homes, farms and businesses, thereby undermining agricultural production and economic activities.
Gwarzo also called on residents to remain vigilant and provide credible information to security agencies to help prevent attacks, rescue abducted persons and facilitate the arrest and prosecution of perpetrators.
He commended security personnel for their efforts and urged them to sustain intelligence-led operations while improving their response to security threats.
