NDA RELEASES 78TH REGULAR COMBATANT COURSE ADMISSION LIST, SETS SEPTEMBER 12 REPORTING DATE

The Nigerian Defence Academy has released the list of successful and reserve candidates selected for admission into its 78th Regular Combatant Course.

The admission list follows the Armed Forces Selection Board exercise conducted between July 4 and August 19, 2026, during which candidates were assessed for admission into the prestigious military institution.

According to the Nigerian Defence Academy, successful candidates are expected to report at the NDA Ribadu Campus, Old Site, Kaduna, on Saturday, September 12, 2026. The Academy warned that candidates who fail to report by Monday, September 14, will lose their admission slots.

The institution stated that only candidates whose names appeared on the successful list are required to report physically. They are expected to present themselves at the Drill Shed of the NDA Old Site, Ribadu Cantonment, where the admission and reception process will take place.

Candidates offered admission have also been directed to come along with the original copies of their academic and personal documents. These include their First School Leaving Certificate, Primary School Testimonial, WAEC or NECO results, Senior Secondary School Testimonial, Birth Certificate or Declaration of Age, and Letter of State of Origin.

The Academy specifically stressed that candidates must present the original, duly endorsed Parent or Guardian Consent Form. Photocopies of the required documents will not be accepted, and candidates who fail to provide the specified originals may not be admitted into the Academy.

Beyond their credentials, successful candidates have been instructed to arrive with a range of personal and training-related items. These include appropriate trousers, shirts, footwear, sportswear, bedding materials and other specified personal effects. Female candidates are also required to bring items such as black low-heel cover shoes, dark-coloured lounge skirts, short tights and trouser suits.

The NDA further directed all successful candidates to upload their O'Level results on the JAMB portal before reporting. Candidates who were offered admission into a different academic department from the one they initially selected are expected to log into the JAMB portal and process the required change.

Another major requirement is the acceptance of the admission offer through the JAMB Central Admissions Processing System, commonly known as JAMB CAPS. Candidates are expected to complete this process before reporting to the Academy.

Meanwhile, candidates placed on the reserve list have not been completely ruled out of the admission process. The NDA said such candidates may be contacted if vacancies become available, with notifications to be sent through the email addresses and telephone numbers provided during their applications.

The Academy also informed successful candidates and their parents or guardians that newly admitted cadets will not be permitted to receive visitors or leave the Academy during the first three months of training.
