The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) and the Nigerian Army’s 1 Division are set to deepen collaboration to boost ongoing security operations in the North-West.

This was revealed on Thursday when the Commandant of the NDA, Major General Abdul Khalifa Ibrahim, hosted the new General Officer Commanding (GOC) 1 Division, Major General Abubakar Sadiq Muhammed Wase, during his familiarisation visit to the Academy in Afaka, Kaduna.

Major General Ibrahim congratulated Wase on his appointment as the 44th GOC of 1 Division, describing it as well deserved and assuring him of the Academy’s full cooperation in joint security efforts.

In his response, Major General Wase expressed his readiness to support the NDA whenever required, emphasizing the importance of unity among military institutions in tackling insecurity.

The visit also featured a tour of the NDA Hall of Fame, underscoring the Academy’s long-standing history of producing officers committed to national service.

Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening operational synergy in the fight against insecurity in the region.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
