NCOS ASSURES OSUN PERSONNEL OF ELECTION ALLOWANCE
The Nigerian Correctional Service, Osun State Command, has assured personnel deployed for the August 15 governorship election that their duty allowances will be paid.
The command said the payment process was still ongoing and urged officers who had not received their allowances to remain patient.
The command’s Public Relations Officer, Joel Oyedokun, disclosed this on Wednesday, explaining that the payments were being processed electronically. He said some personnel had already received their money, while others were still awaiting payment.
According to Oyedokun, payments began on Friday, with some officers receiving their allowances on Monday and Tuesday. He stressed that the process had not been stopped and was continuing.
The development follows earlier concerns from personnel who participated in election duties but had yet to receive their allowances.
The NCoS had previously explained that the payments involved allowances expected from both the Federal Government and the Osun State Government.
The command said the necessary administrative processes were being completed and urged affected personnel to exercise patience while the remaining payments are processed.
The assurances are expected to ease concerns among correctional officers who were deployed across the state during the election and are still waiting for their entitlements.
