NASARAWA CHIEF DENIES MARGINALISATION CLAIMS OVER DISTRICT CREATION

The Galadiman Lafia, Musa Labaran Bage, has denied claims that the Gidan Galadiman Lafia family is being marginalised in the proposed creation of new district heads by the Nasarawa State Government.

Bage, who is the leader of the Gidan Galadima royal family, said he and other members of the family were not consulted before a report alleging their exclusion from the proposed district creation was published.

He described the report as inaccurate, stressing that the matter was already being handled through the appropriate traditional authorities.

According to him, the Gidan Galadiman Lafia family remains loyal to the Emir of Lafia, Justice Sidi Muhammad Bage I, and the entire Lafia Emirate Council.

Bage said he had already communicated the interests of the royal family regarding the proposed district creation to relevant stakeholders within the emirate.

He questioned why an individual who was neither the recognised leader of the family nor known as a member of the family would speak publicly on the matter.

The clarification followed claims by Mohammed Galadima-Gana that there was an apparent move to exclude the Gidan Galadiman Lafia family from the proposed creation of additional district heads within the Lafia Emirate Council.

Galadima-Gana had appealed to Governor Abdullahi Sule to ensure the family was included, citing the need for fairness, justice, peace and equitable treatment.

However, Bage maintained that the issue remained before the Emir and should be allowed to follow the established traditional process.

He urged members of the public to disregard claims suggesting division within the royal family, reaffirming the family’s loyalty to the Lafia Emirate Council.
