NANS URGES KADUNA YOUTHS TO PROTECT PUBLIC INFRASTRUCTURE
The National Association of Nigerian Students has urged young people in Kaduna State to protect government infrastructure and support projects designed to improve communities.
The call was made during NANS’ ongoing assessment of Federal Government infrastructure projects, including roads serving tertiary institutions in the state.
NANS President, Akinteye Babatunde Afeez, said students and young people had a responsibility to take an interest in projects that directly affect their welfare and education.
The association has been inspecting federal road projects across the country to assess their progress, quality and impact on students and surrounding communities.
In Kaduna, the exercise included roads connecting educational institutions, with NANS highlighting the importance of reliable infrastructure to students’ movement and access to schools.
The student body said young people should also provide constructive feedback on government projects and discourage actions that could damage public infrastructure.
NANS has said its nationwide inspection exercise will cover additional parts of the country before producing a report containing its observations and recommendations.
The association also encouraged students to participate in discussions about government policies and infrastructure projects affecting their communities.
The initiative is aimed at strengthening student involvement in monitoring public projects and promoting infrastructure that supports education and economic activity.
