The Naira ended the week at N1,366.19 per dollar in the official foreign exchange market, following a slight depreciation from N1,366.06 on Friday, representing a daily drop of N0.13 against the dollar.

On a week-on-week basis, however, the country’s currency recorded notable gains at the official exchange market, with the Naira strengthening against the dollar.

In the parallel market, the Naira also gained N10, closing at N1,450 per dollar.

The increase in the Naira’s value coincides with a continued rise in Nigeria’s external reserves, which reached $46.91 billion as of February 5, 2026, according to data from the Central Bank of Nigeria.

Officials emphasized that safeguarding democracy requires collective effort and lawful civic engagement, adding that citizens should ensure their votes are never taken for granted.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
