The Nigerian Air Force says it has carried out a coordinated air strike targeting terrorist positions in Guduf, located in the Mandara Mountains, as part of ongoing counter-terrorism operations under Operation HADIN KAI.

The Mandara Mountains are situated along the northeastern border between Nigeria and Cameroon, mainly within Adamawa State and extending into parts of Borno State.

This was disclosed in a statement released on Tuesday by the Director of Public Relations and Information at NAF Headquarters, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame.

According to the statement, the operation was conducted on April 27, 2026, following credible intelligence and confirmatory Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance reports.

Ejodame said NAF air assets identified multiple terrorist structures and logistics hubs being used to support insurgent activities in the area.

He added that the mission was executed with precision and in line with established rules of engagement.

The Air Force said the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI deployed precision targeting to engage and neutralise hostile elements and their infrastructure.

It noted that the operation was carried out with due regard for the protection of civilians and the surrounding environment.

According to the statement, the strike destroyed key terrorist structures and logistics hubs within the enclave, which it described as a known terrorist hideout in the Mandara Mountains.

NAF said the successful operation has further degraded the operational capacity of the insurgent network in the area.

The Air Force added that the strike reflects its continued commitment to denying terrorist groups freedom of movement and supporting broader security operations aimed at protecting national security.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
