NABTEB RELEASES 2026 RESULTS, 81.24% GET FIVE CREDITS
The National Business and Technical Examinations Board has released the results of the 2026 National Business Certificate and National Technical Certificate examinations, with 81.24 per cent of candidates securing at least five credits, including English Language and Mathematics.
NABTEB said 100,069 candidates registered for the examinations, while 97,867 eventually sat for the papers. Of those graded, 79,503 candidates achieved five credits and above, including English and Mathematics.
The board also reported that 89,580 candidates, representing 91.53 per cent, obtained five credits and above whether or not English Language and Mathematics were included.
The 2026 performance represents an improvement from the previous year. In 2025, 68.18 per cent of candidates obtained five credits and above, including English and Mathematics, while 83.28 per cent met the requirement without necessarily including the two subjects.
NABTEB Registrar and Chief Executive Officer, Dr Aminu Mohammed, said the improvement reflected the combined efforts of candidates, teachers, schools and parents.
He also disclosed that 24,128 candidates, representing 24.65 per cent of those graded, were certified as craftsmen.
Meanwhile, 847 candidates were found to have been involved in examination malpractice, accounting for 1,554 reported incidents.
Mohammed advised candidates to use only NABTEB’s official result-checking platform and warned against individuals claiming they could alter or upgrade examination results.
