MY CHILDREN CAN’T GET JOBS IN NIGERIA BECAUSE OF MY NAME – BODE GEORGE LAMENTS
People's Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Chief Bode George, has revealed that his children are unable to secure employment in Nigeria because of his name and political background.
Speaking during an interview on Nigeria Info FM 99.3, George lamented the high level of hunger and anger across the country, saying the situation has left both graduates and non-graduates hopeless.
“Today in Nigeria, everywhere there is hunger and anger,” he said. “Forget about me being in the PDP; the base of the pyramid is what really matters. What have we done to positively impact the generality of Nigerians? There is so much anger in the land and there is so much hunger.”
He added that many graduates are unemployed while non-graduates lack empowerment opportunities. George urged President Bola Tinubu to create a special fund for skill development and micro-credit support for young entrepreneurs.
He also criticized the government’s spending priorities, referencing the First Lady’s call for donations to build a national library, suggesting instead that such funds be redirected to support youth empowerment.
Expressing personal frustration, George said:
“The younger generation in this country, including my own children who graduated a long time ago, have returned and tried to get a job, but they can’t get a job because their name is Bode George.”
The PDP stalwart’s remarks have sparked widespread discussion on nepotism, political bias, and unemployment in Nigeria.
