MULTICHOICE UNVEILS REGIONAL MASTERCLASSES FOR FILMMAKERS

The MultiChoice Talent Factory has launched a series of 13 regional masterclasses for film and television practitioners across Nigeria as part of efforts to strengthen skills and support the country’s creative industry.

The programme comes as the MultiChoice Talent Factory marks eight years of investment in Nigeria’s film and television sector.

The masterclasses are designed to provide filmmakers and other creative professionals with practical knowledge and industry-focused training to improve their technical and storytelling skills.

The initiative reflects growing efforts by industry stakeholders to strengthen Nigeria’s creative economy by providing practitioners with access to professional development and industry expertise.

The MultiChoice Talent Factory has previously operated training programmes aimed at developing filmmakers through practical instruction, mentorship and industry exposure. Its academy programme provides aspiring filmmakers with fully funded, year-long training across selected African locations.

The new regional masterclasses are expected to complement these longer-term training programmes by bringing specialised learning opportunities closer to practitioners in different parts of Nigeria.

The initiative is also expected to support the development of local talent and improve the quality of film and television productions emerging from the country.

MultiChoice said continued investment in skills development remains important to the growth of Africa’s creative industries, particularly as demand for locally produced film and television content continues to increase.
