A mother in Osun State has appealed to Governor Ademola Adeleke and the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, to release the bodies of her two sons for burial, one year after they died during an incident in Akinlalu.

The woman, Oyebamiji, said her sons, Ismaila and Sefiu, were among four people killed during the incident on September 30, 2025.

She appealed to the state and Federal Government to intervene and enable the affected families to retrieve the bodies and conduct burial rites.

The incident occurred in Akinlalu, Osun State, with the families continuing to seek the release of the remains of their relatives.

Oyebamiji urged the authorities to consider the emotional and cultural importance of allowing families to bury their loved ones.

She called on the governor and police authorities to assist the families in resolving the matter and releasing the bodies.

The appeal comes a year after the incident as the affected families continue to seek closure and the opportunity to conduct burial arrangements.
