Spanish striker Álvaro Morata has officially joined Serie A club Como following the early termination of his loan spell at Galatasaray.

Football journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed the move on Monday, stating that all paperwork has been signed and Morata will now be registered as a Como player. The 32-year-old makes the switch from AC Milan, who had loaned him to Galatasaray for the latter half of last season.

Morata’s time in Turkey saw him feature in 16 matches, where he scored seven goals and provided one assist. Before that, with Milan, he played 25 matches, starting in 21, and scored six goals, along with one assist.

The forward’s decision to join Como comes with the desire for a bigger role than he enjoyed in recent seasons. Como, aiming to solidify their place as serious contenders in Italian football, views Morata as a key figure in their ongoing project.

With the loan from Galatasaray now ended, the next step is his official registration, which will mark the start of his new chapter in Serie A.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
