MONIEPOINT DISBURSES $700M IN LOANS, WOMEN ACCOUNT FOR 36% OF CREDIT ACCESS
Moniepoint has revealed that its lending activities have reached $700 million, with women-owned businesses receiving 36 percent of the credit provided through its financing solutions.
The fintech company said the figures highlight the growing role of digital financial services in expanding access to credit, particularly for small businesses and entrepreneurs who often face challenges securing traditional bank loans.
According to Moniepoint, its lending programmes are designed to support business growth by providing merchants and small enterprises with easier access to working capital. The company noted that increasing financial support for women entrepreneurs remains important for promoting inclusive economic growth.
Industry experts said improved access to finance can help small businesses expand operations, create jobs, and contribute more significantly to Nigeria’s economy. They added that digital lending platforms are increasingly filling gaps in traditional financing systems through faster and more accessible credit solutions.
