Spending, a close friend of the late singer Mohbad, has shut down rumours making the rounds on social media that he is the real father of Mohbad’s son, Liam.

The rumours started after a viral post suggested that Liam looked strikingly like Spending, sparking online debates and intense speculation about the child’s paternity.

Reacting to the claims, Spending took to his Instagram story to firmly deny any involvement, making it clear that he never had any romantic relationship with Liam’s mother.

“I’ve been seeing several bloggers insinuating I’m Liam’s father. This is not a joke for real!” Spending wrote. “To set the record straight, I’m not his father and I never had any affectionate relationship with his mother. Y’all need to stop spreading these false narratives.”

In a move to completely put the rumours to rest, Spending also said he was open to taking a DNA test if needed.

“I’m happy to have a DNA test done if required,” he added, showing his willingness to clear his name once and for all.

Spending’s response comes as many close to Mohbad continue to call for respect for the singer’s family, urging bloggers and fans to stop peddling hurtful stories that add to their pain.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
