MINISTER PROMISES IMPROVED POWER SUPPLY BEFORE YEAR-END
The Minister of Power, Mr. Adebayo Adelabu, has assured Nigerians of significant improvement in electricity supply before the end of the year, citing ongoing reforms and infrastructure upgrades as key drivers.
Speaking at a media briefing, Adelabu highlighted recent investments in generation, transmission, and distribution infrastructure, as well as efforts to address gas supply challenges to power plants. “We are working round the clock to ensure that Nigerians enjoy better power supply. The improvements will be noticeable before December,” he stated.
The minister also mentioned the government’s commitment to renewable energy integration and policy reforms aimed at attracting private sector participation in the power sector. He urged patience from citizens while assuring transparency in the implementation process.
Power sector stakeholders have welcomed the assurance, though many called for concrete, measurable milestones to hold the government accountable.
The promise comes amid persistent public complaints over unreliable electricity supply and high costs of alternative power sources.
