Former Super Eagles captain, John Mikel Obi, believes Arsenal are in prime position to win the Premier League this season.

The Gunners have maintained impressive form, establishing a four-point lead at the top of the table. Mikel Arteta’s side also sit comfortably ahead of their closest rivals, Manchester City and Liverpool, by six and seven points respectively.

Having previously questioned Arsenal’s mentality, Mikel Obi has now acknowledged the strength and depth of their current squad, describing them as one of the best in Europe.

“Martinelli coming off the bench and winning them games, Eze coming off the bench — they’re still getting results,” Mikel Obi said on his podcast.

“Merino is injured, Havertz is injured, no Odegaard, no Gabriel Jesus — it’s frightening. The squad Arsenal have right now… and Arteta knows it. This is Arsenal’s title to lose.”
