MIDNIGHT ATTACK IN KADUNA LEAVES 30 DEAD, HOMES DESTROYED
At least 30 people have been killed after armed attackers stormed Naridon village in Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, launching a deadly overnight assault that also left several homes in ruins. Victims included women, children, and elderly residents, with reports confirming that eight children were among those killed. Several others sustained injuries during the attack.
Residents said the attackers invaded the community around midnight, opening fire indiscriminately before setting houses ablaze. Some victims were reportedly trapped during the assault, while others fled into nearby bushes to escape the violence. Security personnel arrived hours after the attackers had fled the area.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack, although authorities say investigations are ongoing. The latest incident adds to the growing insecurity affecting parts of northwestern Nigeria, where communities continue to face attacks by armed criminal groups. Stakeholders have renewed calls for stronger security measures to protect vulnerable communities and prevent further loss of life.
