MEXICAN GOVERNMENT GRANTS OFFICIAL DIPLOMATIC CLEARANCE FOR RENO OMOKRI AS NIGERIA’S AMBASSADOR EXTRAORDINARY AND PLENIPOTENTIARY
Chargé d’Affaires of the Mexican Embassy in Abuja delivers formal agrément to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, resolving months of diplomatic procedures ahead of diplomatic deployment to North America
The Government of the United Mexican States has formally granted diplomatic clearance, known as agrément, accepting the appointment of former presidential aide Bemigho Reno Omokri as Nigeria’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary.
The formal consent was conveyed in Abuja when the Chargé d’Affaires of the Mexican Embassy, Mr. José Manuel Briseño Flores, delivered the official document to the Director of Protocol at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Babagana Wakil.
Confirming the development, Omokri disclosed that the approval concludes administrative processes following his initial nomination by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and subsequent confirmation by the Senate.
Under the terms of his diplomatic assignment, the ambassador-designate will represent Nigeria in Mexico City, with concurrent diplomatic accreditation to the Central American nations of Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua.
The receipt of the diplomatic agreement clears the path for Omokri to officially present his letters of credence to Mexican authorities and assume full ambassadorial duties overseeing bilateral, economic, and regional affairs.
