Football icon Lionel Messi has revealed the 10 best young players he believes will shape the future of world football.

As part of the ‘Messi+10: Season 2’ campaign with Adidas Football, the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner picked a blend of male and female rising stars from across Europe’s top clubs — including promising talents from Chelsea and Liverpool.

Among Messi’s choices are Liverpool’s Rio Ngumoha and Chelsea duo Andrey Santos and Kendry Páez, both of whom have been tipped for greatness due to their creativity and technical brilliance.

The Argentine legend also highlighted Brighton & Hove Albion’s Brajan Gruda, Nico Paz of Como, Rodrigo Mora from Porto, Mika Godts of Ajax, and Kader Meite from Stade Rennes as part of his male selections.

In a move applauded by fans, Messi included two young female stars — Clara Serrajordi of Barcelona and Lily Yohannes of Olympique Lyon — recognizing the growing influence of women’s football globally.

Messi made a similar list in 2024, which featured breakout names such as Lamine Yamal, Antonio Nusa, and Kenan Yildiz, several of whom have since gone on to shine for both club and country.

The Inter Miami captain’s endorsement once again highlights his keen eye for emerging talent and his continued influence on the next generation of footballers.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
