Popular Nollywood actress, Mercy Johnson, has expressed concern over the reported arrest and detention of Regina Daniels’ elder brother, Sammy West, allegedly by Senator Ned Nwoko.

Reports indicate that Sammy West was apprehended in Lagos on Sunday over his alleged involvement in Nwoko’s ongoing marital dispute. His arrest came a week after his sister, actress Regina Daniels, accused her husband of domestic violence and reportedly filed for divorce.

Reacting to the unfolding drama, Mercy Johnson, who is regarded as Regina’s godmother, questioned the arrest and criticized the state of Nigeria’s justice system.

She wrote:

“The worst form of injustice is pretended justice.

A child was arrested, and for two days, no one has been allowed to see him. He was flown from Lagos to Abuja and is allegedly being taken to court straight from the airport. How did we get here? Nigeria… Wow.”
