MEET UNILORIN’S 2026 BEST GRADUATING STUDENT WITH 5.00 CGPA

Francis Olusegun has emerged as the University of Ilorin’s overall best graduating student for the 2025/2026 academic session, completing his Mathematics degree with a perfect 5.00 cumulative grade point average.

The Oyo State indigene attributed his achievement to consistency, personal sacrifices and a willingness to change study methods when they stopped working.

Explaining his approach, Olusegun said he regularly reviewed lessons after classes but did not insist on following a rigid timetable. Whenever a routine became ineffective, he adjusted it to stay productive.

His ambition went beyond earning a first-class degree. After recording a perfect result in his first year, he set his sights on becoming the university’s overall best graduating student.

Stories of outstanding graduates from other institutions further encouraged him to pursue that goal.

To maintain his focus, Olusegun said he reduced social outings and chose not to enter a romantic relationship during his studies.

His experience highlights how a clear academic target, steady effort and adaptable study habits contributed to his exceptional result.
