MARVEL INTRODUCES NEW BLACK PANTHER FOR UPCOMING SEQUEL

Marvel Studios has officially unveiled David Jonsson as the next Black Panther, confirming that the British actor will portray T’Challa II, the son of the late King T’Challa, in the highly anticipated Black Panther 3. The announcement was made during Marvel's panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2026.

Director Ryan Coogler introduced Jonsson alongside returning cast members Letitia Wright and Winston Duke, while Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige confirmed that the third installment is scheduled for release on December 15, 2028. The film will continue the legacy of Wakanda by focusing on the next generation rather than recasting the original T'Challa, who was portrayed by the late Chadwick Boseman.

Jonsson, best known for his performances in Industry and Alien: Romulus, expressed gratitude for the opportunity, acknowledging the significance of taking on one of Marvel's most iconic roles. Letitia Wright, who plays Shuri, welcomed him to the franchise and hinted that her character will continue to play a major role in shaping Wakanda's future.

The announcement was one of the biggest highlights of Comic-Con, with fans applauding Marvel's decision to continue T'Challa's legacy through his son while honoring Chadwick Boseman's lasting impact on the franchise.
