“MARRIAGE IS NOT BY FORCE” — ACTOR JIDE KENE SPEAKS ON REGINA DANIELS’ MARITAL STRUGGLES
Nollywood actor Jide Kene has weighed in on the ongoing controversy surrounding Regina Daniels’ marriage to Senator Ned Nwoko, describing the situation as “inhumane” and oppressive.
In an Instagram story post, Kene criticized silence in such matters, saying it is akin to wickedness, and expressed deep concern for the young actress, who married at 17 and has two children.
He wrote:
“Silence they say is golden. But Igbo people have an adage that only a wicked elder will keep quiet when things are not going well.
I am no elder, but what Pa Ned is doing to this young lady… is nothing short of inhumane. This is black slavery and oppression.”
The actor further questioned why the issue hasn’t yet been addressed on the Senate floor, highlighting what he sees as systemic indifference to Regina’s plight.
In his caption, he added:
“Things are really falling apart. Marriage is not by force. Watching this unfold breaks my heart. Coming from a background where men believed they ‘owned’ their wives, I must say to everyone supporting or joking about this — may it never come to you.
I’m praying for Regina and for anyone going through the same.”
Jide Kene’s comments have sparked conversations online, with fans praising him for speaking out on issues of marital autonomy and abuse, while others continue to debate the highly publicized dynamics of Regina Daniels’ marriage.
The actor’s post underscores the growing call for public discourse and support for individuals facing alleged marital oppression, especially in situations where power and wealth intersect with personal freedoms.
