Manchester United has officially completed the £50 million redevelopment of its men’s first-team building at the Carrington Training Complex, marking a major step in the club’s mission to provide world-class facilities for players and staff.

The year-long project designed by Foster + Partners and led by legendary Manchester-born architect Lord Norman Foster has delivered a cutting-edge, high-performance environment aimed at boosting teamwork, innovation, and excellence.

Funded in part by the $300m capital investment from co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe last year, the revamp was completed on time and within budget  just over a week before the 2025/26 Premier League kicks off.

From upgraded gym equipment and recovery rooms to better nutrition facilities, every detail was shaped with input from players and staff. The design focuses on openness, natural light, and improved connectivity, creating a space that feels both modern and inspiring.

Fresh from their US pre-season tour, Ruben Amorim’s squad moved into the new facility this week after spending a year in temporary training spaces. The club’s executive leadership team has also relocated to Carrington, further centring Manchester United’s operations around football.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe expressed his excitement

“We made a quick decision to invest significantly in creating a world-class performance environment. We are delighted with the outcome and confident it will help build a winning culture at Manchester United.”

The timing couldn’t be better with a fresh season ahead, the Red Devils now have a home base to match their ambitions

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
