MAN WARNS INFLATION WON’T EASE WITHOUT REFORMS
The Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) has warned that inflation will not ease sustainably without bold and comprehensive economic reforms.
MAN President, Mr. Francis Meshioye, issued the warning on Friday during a quarterly economic review in Lagos.
He acknowledged marginal improvements in some macroeconomic indicators but stressed that high energy costs, persistent exchange rate pressures, multiple taxation, and infrastructure deficits continue to fuel production costs and consumer prices.
“Superficial measures will not suffice. We need structural reforms that address the root causes of inflation if we are to achieve lasting stability,” Meshioye said.
The association called for accelerated investment in power generation, improved access to foreign exchange for manufacturers, and reduction in the cost of doing business.
MAN urged the Federal Government to maintain close collaboration with the private sector to design and implement policies that will revive the manufacturing sector and support broader economic recovery.
