Life Without Parole: Milwaukee Man Jailed for Brutal Murder of 19-Year-Old on First Date

A Milwaukee man, Maxwell Anderson, has been sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole for the horrific murder and dismemberment of 19-year-old college student Sade Robinson, whom he met for the first time on a date.

The gruesome case, which shocked the community and made national headlines, ended with a powerful court ruling on Friday. During the sentencing, Judge Laura Crivello described the killing as something “straight out of a horror story,” calling Anderson’s actions “unconscionable.”

Anderson, who was convicted in June 2025 of first-degree intentional homicide, mutilating a corpse, and arson, has continued to deny any involvement in the crime.

The Victim’s Family Speaks

Sade’s parents gave heartbreaking victim impact statements during the sentencing.
Her mother, Sheena Scarbrough, said Anderson’s actions “messed the entire community up” and urged the court not to offer him protection in prison.

Her father, Carlos Robinson, went further:

“Everything he did should be done to him. No man should live after what he did.”

A Request Denied

Anderson’s lawyer had asked for the possibility of parole after 25 years, citing his past military service and mental health concerns. But Judge Crivello shut it down, stating that Anderson is “irredeemable” and disconnected from reality.

“His perception of what happened differs from the rest of the world,” the judge added.

Anderson Maintains Innocence

Speaking in court, Anderson again claimed he was innocent.

“I hope true justice will be delivered,” he said, also announcing plans to appeal the verdict.

What Happened to Sade Robinson?

According to investigators, Anderson and Sade met at a bar in March 2024, and spent time together again on April 1. Surveillance video showed the pair visiting two bars before going to Anderson’s apartment. Shocking images later found on his phone showed him groping Sade while she was face-down on his couch — suggesting she may have been incapacitated.

Her car was later seen being driven to a park near Lake Michigan, where police believe the dismemberment occurred. Anderson then burned her car and took a bus home.

In the days that followed, authorities found Sade’s body parts scattered across different areas:

A leg in a park

A foot and another leg near a playground

A torso and arm washed ashore in South Milwaukee
Her head has never been found.

Final Judgment

In addition to life without parole for murder, Anderson was also sentenced to:

7½ years for mutilating a corpse

18 months for arson

A charge of hiding a corpse was dismissed.

This devastating case has raised questions about dating safety, mental health, and justice for victims of violent crimes. As the Robinson family continues to grieve, they say they hope Sade's story will serve as a warning and a call for change.
