MAN CITY CHASE FERNANDEZ, ARSENAL EYE ALVAREZ ON TRANSFER DEADLINE DAY

Manchester City are pushing to sign Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez, while Arsenal are targeting Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez as Premier League clubs make their final moves before Tuesday’s transfer deadline.

City are reportedly prepared to pursue Fernandez, with Chelsea valuing the Argentine midfielder at around £120m ($162m). However, the Manchester club have yet to meet Chelsea’s asking price.
 

City manager Enzo Maresca is keen on Fernandez following the departures of Rodri, Bernardo Silva, Nico Gonzalez and Tijjani Reijnders from his midfield options. Fernandez has also been left out of Chelsea’s last two squads amid growing transfer speculation.

Manchester City are also expected to complete the signing of Senegal midfielder Iliman Ndiaye from Everton for £65m, despite reported interest from Tottenham.

Meanwhile, Arsenal could make a major move for Julian Alvarez, with Atletico reportedly willing to consider a £128m deal despite the striker’s preference for Barcelona.

Alvarez has missed several training sessions and was left out of Atletico’s squad for their win over Sevilla, adding to speculation surrounding his future.

Arsenal are hoping to strengthen their squad as they target back-to-back Premier League titles for the first time since the 1930s.

Elsewhere, Arsenal youngster Ethan Nwaneri is set to join Borussia Dortmund on a season-long loan.

Liverpool have already spent £123m on Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain but remain interested in another winger, with Crystal Palace’s Ismaila Sarr and Brighton’s Yankuba Minteh reportedly on their list.

Cody Gakpo could leave Liverpool if another winger arrives, with Manchester City and Tottenham interested in the Dutch forward.

Other deadline-day moves include Harvey Elliott to Valencia on loan, Mykhailo Mudryk to Tottenham on loan, Jack Grealish returning to Everton on loan, Folarin Balogun joining Everton from Monaco for £40m, and Nicolas Woltemade moving to Juventus on loan.
