MALAMI INAUGURATES 600-MEMBER ADC CAMPAIGN COUNCIL IN KEBBI

Former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, has inaugurated a 600-member campaign council of the African Democratic Congress in Kebbi State ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Malami inaugurated the council in Kebbi State on Wednesday, charging members to build a strong grassroots campaign structure capable of mobilising support across the state’s 21 local government areas.

He said the council was not simply a collection of political appointments but a coordinated platform designed to take the ADC’s message to communities, wards and polling units across the state.

Malami said the council was deliberately constituted to reflect the diversity of Kebbi, with members drawn from different communities, local government areas and senatorial districts.

He urged members to work as one political family and avoid tribalism, sectionalism and personal rivalry, warning that internal divisions could weaken the party’s political prospects.

The former minister also called for reconciliation among party members, particularly where disagreements or grievances arise during the campaign.

He said the ADC campaign should focus on issues affecting residents rather than personal ambitions, urging candidates and supporters to communicate the party’s programmes effectively at the grassroots.

Malami described the council appointments as a call to service rather than a reward, tasking members with mobilising supporters and strengthening the party’s presence across Kebbi.

The inauguration comes as political parties intensify preparations and grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Malami expressed confidence that unity, discipline and issue-based politics would help the ADC build a stronger political structure in Kebbi State.
