MAKINDE REWARDS SHOOTING STARS WITH TWO NEW BUSES AFTER CONTINENTAL WIN

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has approved the immediate release of two new buses to Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan following the team’s impressive victory over Tunisian side CS Sfaxien in the CAF Confederation Cup. The vehicles, comprising a 32-seater and an 18-seater bus, are expected to support the club’s transportation and operational needs as it continues its continental campaign.

The governor’s approval was disclosed in a statement issued by the Oyo State Commissioner for Information, Prince Dotun Oyelade, on Sunday. According to the statement, the gesture followed Shooting Stars’ first-leg victory over CS Sfaxien at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta, Ogun State, as the club returned to continental competition after a 27-year absence.

The state government said the provision of the buses demonstrates its commitment to supporting the Oluyole Warriors as they represent Oyo State on the continental stage. Makinde also assured the club’s supporters that his administration would continue providing the necessary backing to help the team remain competitive and pursue further success in the CAF competition.

Oyelade said the government’s support was not only aimed at sustaining the club’s current momentum but also at helping Shooting Stars reclaim its former status as one of the prominent football clubs in the country. He urged the players, technical crew and management to remain focused and committed as they continue their continental campaign.

The latest intervention adds to the state government’s efforts to strengthen Shooting Stars and improve the club’s capacity to compete at a higher level. With the team now back on the continental stage after nearly three decades, the administration said it would continue supporting the club in its pursuit of continental honours.
