LIBERIA SEEKS NIGERIAN INVESTORS THROUGH BILATERAL TRADE FORUM
The Government of Liberia has intensified efforts to attract Nigerian investors through a high-level bilateral trade forum aimed at strengthening economic ties and exploring investment opportunities in key sectors.
The forum, held in Monrovia, brought together Liberian officials, Nigerian business leaders, and potential investors to discuss prospects in agriculture, mining, infrastructure, and services. Liberian President Joseph Boakai emphasised the country’s readiness to offer incentives and a conducive environment for foreign direct investment. “Nigeria is a key partner. We invite your businesses to explore Liberia’s vast opportunities,” he said.
Nigerian participants expressed interest in the country’s natural resources and post-conflict reconstruction potential. Discussions also focused on reducing trade barriers and improving logistics between the two nations.
The event is part of Liberia’s broader strategy to diversify its economy and leverage regional partnerships within the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
Both sides expressed optimism that the forum would lead to concrete investment deals and long-term collaboration.
