LECTURER, FEMALE STUDENT CLASH IN EXAM HALL AT NIGER DELTA UNIVERSITY
A dramatic scene unfolded at Niger Delta University (NDU), Bayelsa State, when a lecturer and a female student engaged in a physical altercation inside an examination hall.
Viral videos on social media show the lecturer and the student exchanging blows after the lecturer allegedly caught her engaging in exam malpractice. According to eyewitnesses, the lecturer had asked the student to leave the hall, but she refused, insisting that her seized phone be returned before stepping out.
The confrontation escalated when the student reportedly smashed the lecturer’s phone, sparking a heated fight. In one of the clips, another official could be heard urging the student to leave quietly, but she stood her ground, demanding her phone back.
Efforts to get a response from the school management were unsuccessful as of press time. Meanwhile, the Bayelsa State Police PRO, Musa Mohammed, confirmed that the matter has been reported and promised to reach out to the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in the area for details.
The incident has since sparked mixed reactions online, with many Nigerians calling for calm and urging the university to conduct a proper investigation before taking disciplinary action.
