LEAP AFRICA TRAINS YOUNG WOMEN FOR LEADERSHIP ROLES

LEAP Africa has concluded the fifth cohort of its Leadership Accelerator Programme for Young African Women, equipping participants with leadership skills, professional networks, and practical knowledge to take on greater responsibilities across different sectors.

The programme attracted more than 4,500 women from 48 African countries and 12 non-African countries, while over 1,500 participants completed the free online learning phase. From these participants, 31 women from 11 African countries were selected for a physical boot camp in Nairobi, Kenya.

According to LEAP Africa, the programme was created to address the leadership gap among African women and prepare young professionals to influence policies, strengthen institutions, and contribute to their communities.

The boot camp featured leadership sessions, panel discussions, case studies, peer collaboration, and practical learning. Participants also explored areas including transformational leadership, personal branding, executive presence, financial intelligence, and male allyship.

LEAP Africa said it would continue investing in young women by providing the skills, confidence, and networks needed to strengthen Africa’s leadership pipeline and support sustainable development across the continent.
