A man identified as Mr. Ridwan Oladipupo, reportedly a 300-level Agricultural Engineering student at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, has been brutally murdered.

Oladipupo was said to have left his off-campus residence on Lawyer Ahmed Street on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, allegedly heading to the university campus to study. His lifeless body was later found near Nurudeen Grammar School along Under-G Road in Ogbomoso.

In response to the incident, LAUTECH released a statement signed by the Registrar, Mrs. Olayinka Balogun, clarifying that the university has yet to receive any formal confirmation verifying Oladipupo’s enrollment.

The statement reads in part:
“The Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, has received unconfirmed reports regarding the death of Mr. Ridwan Oladipupo, said to be a 300-level Agricultural Engineering student. He reportedly left his hostel on June 24, 2025, to study, without specifying his destination.

“On June 25, the Acting Dean of Student Affairs was contacted by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of the Owode Division following the discovery of a corpse in front of Nurudeen Grammar School along Under-G Road.

“Efforts by the police and the Dean to confirm the identity of the deceased as a LAUTECH student proved inconclusive, as neither students nor residents could recognize the body at the time.”

The body was eventually taken to the LAUTECH Teaching Hospital Mortuary. According to the university, no official report has been made to the school regarding the incident. It was only on Sunday, June 29, that the deceased’s father visited the hostel with a police officer and questioned the occupants.

“As of now, there is still no official communication confirming his identity as a student of the university,” the statement added.
LAUTECH concluded by noting that the case remains under investigation by the Nigerian Police Force, Owode Division, and the university is refraining from any further comment to avoid compromising the investigation.
