LAUTECH DEBUNKS VIRAL MATRICULATION NOTICE

The Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, has dismissed a viral notice claiming that newly admitted students are expected to sign the university’s matriculation list on September 23, 2026.

The university described the notice as false and unauthorised, urging students to disregard it. Management said the matriculation list signing exercise has not commenced because the institution is currently on break.

According to a statement signed by the Registrar, Olayinka Balogun, the actual date for the commencement of the exercise will be announced through the university’s official communication channels after resumption.

An earlier internal memo dated August 24 confirmed that matriculation lists for newly admitted 100-Level and Direct Entry students for the 2025/2026 academic session had been sent to the relevant faculties.

The memo directed faculty officers to obtain students’ signatures and return three completed copies of the lists to the Registrar’s Office on or before September 30.

LAUTECH clarified that September 30 is only the deadline for submitting the completed lists and does not confirm September 23 as the signing date.

The university advised newly admitted students to rely only on official announcements for information about the matriculation exercise and other academic activities.
