LASSA FEVER CLAIMS 214 LIVES NATIONWIDE AS FATALITY RATE RISES TO 25%

Nigeria has recorded 214 deaths from Lassa fever, with the disease’s fatality rate climbing to 25 percent, according to the latest public health data.

Health authorities say the increase in fatalities remains a major concern, despite ongoing efforts to strengthen surveillance, case management, and public awareness across affected states.

The outbreak has been reported in several parts of the country, with health officials closely monitoring transmission patterns and deploying response teams to high-risk areas.
