The Lagos State Government has disbursed N3 billion as compensation to 331 victims affected by various road construction and expansion projects across the state.

The payment was announced on Tuesday by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Works and Infrastructure, Mr. Oluwaseun Ogunbiyi, who described the exercise as part of the government’s commitment to fairness and prompt settlement of affected residents.

The beneficiaries include property owners, landlords, and tenants whose structures were impacted by ongoing infrastructure developments such as road dualisation and bridge projects.

“We are committed to ensuring that no citizen is left behind in our quest to build a smarter and more efficient Lagos,” Ogunbiyi stated.

Affected individuals expressed appreciation for the timely compensation, noting that it would help them resettle and rebuild their lives.

The Lagos State Government reiterated that more compensation exercises would be conducted as additional road projects progress, urging residents in project corridors to cooperate with contractors for smooth execution.
