LAGOS URGES FINANCE OFFICERS TO STRENGTHEN INTER-AGENCY COOPERATION

The Lagos State Government has urged finance and accounts officers across its ministries, departments and agencies to strengthen collaboration to improve the management and use of public resources.

The government said closer cooperation among financial officers and government institutions would help ensure that public funds are properly managed and directed towards projects and services that benefit residents.

The directive was issued as the state reviewed ways to improve financial management and accountability across its public institutions.

Officials were encouraged to share information, coordinate their activities and work together in addressing financial and administrative challenges.

The government said effective inter-agency collaboration would also support better planning, reduce duplication of efforts and improve the implementation of government programmes.

The call forms part of broader efforts by the Lagos State Government to strengthen public-sector efficiency and ensure that available resources produce measurable results.

Finance officers were urged to maintain professionalism and transparency while carrying out their responsibilities and supporting the state’s development agenda.
