The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) has sealed Flourish Hotel, situated at New Ipaja Scheme II, Ipaja Housing Estate, Lagos, following repeated complaints of noise pollution and other breaches of environmental regulations.

The agency disclosed the action in a statement on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, highlighting its intensified drive against environmental offenders across the state.

According to LASEPA, the enforcement operation was conducted after investigations revealed that the hotel consistently violated environmental standards, particularly regarding excessive noise levels. The agency noted that these activities caused disturbances to residents and posed potential public health risks.

During the enforcement exercise, LASEPA’s General Manager, Babatunde Ajayi, reiterated the agency’s commitment to protecting the environment and ensuring compliance with existing laws.

He stated, “Noise pollution and other environmental abuses threaten the quality of life and well-being of residents. The sealing of this facility reflects our determination to uphold environmental standards across Lagos State.”

Ajayi further explained that the exercise underscores LASEPA’s dedication “to promoting a cleaner and healthier Lagos” in line with the state government’s environmental sustainability objectives.

The LASEPA boss also urged residents and business operators to strictly adhere to environmental regulations, emphasizing that the agency will maintain a zero-tolerance policy for infractions. Compliance, he added, is essential for building a sustainable and livable Lagos.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
