LAGOS SETS NOVEMBER DEADLINE FOR HEALTH INSURANCE COMPLIANCE
The Lagos State Government has given Ministries, Departments and Agencies that have yet to comply with the state’s mandatory health insurance policy until November 30 to meet the requirements.
The Head of Service, Olabode Agoro, announced the deadline while presenting Certificates of Compliance to 63 MDAs that had completed enrolment under the Lagos State Social Health Scheme, also known as ILERA EKO.
The presentation took place at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Alausa, Ikeja.
Agoro said the deadline was part of efforts to ensure full compliance with the Executive Order mandating enrolment in the state’s social health insurance scheme.
MDAs that have not yet met the requirements are expected to complete the process before the November deadline, after which compliance monitoring will continue.
The government has continued to promote the scheme as a way of expanding access to healthcare and ensuring that residents and workers can obtain medical services through an organised health insurance system.
The state said the compliance drive was also aimed at strengthening participation in the scheme across government institutions.
