LAGOS POLICE INTERCEPT VEHICLE LOADED WITH CANNABIS IN OJO
The Lagos State Police Command has intercepted a vehicle carrying bags of cannabis sativa and other suspicious items in the Ojo area of the state.
According to the Command’s spokesperson, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, the incident happened during a routine stop-and-search operation on Friday. Officers flagged down an ash-coloured Toyota Sienna, but the driver quickly fled the scene with the car key after being asked to provide identification and vehicle documents, abandoning the vehicle.
A thorough search of the vehicle revealed two bags of suspected cannabis, an Army jungle hat, and two ATM cards. The exhibits, along with the vehicle, were transferred to Special Squad 2 at the Command Headquarters, Ikeja, for further investigation.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, commended the officers for their vigilance and assured Lagos residents that efforts are underway to track and apprehend the fleeing suspect.
