The Lagos State Police Command has arrested two men suspected of cult-related activities after finding them in unlawful possession of a firearm.

Police spokesperson CSP Benjamin Hundeyin revealed that the suspects, aged 34 and 35, were apprehended at Alaba-Rago, Ojo following credible intelligence received on July 11, 2025. A semi-automatic pistol was recovered during the operation.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the men are members of a cult group and are currently assisting authorities in providing information to identify other gang members and recover additional weapons.

CSP Hundeyin reiterated the Lagos Police Command’s commitment to intensifying efforts against cultism and illegal firearm possession, stressing that such operations are part of broader strategies to ensure the safety and security of residents across the state.
