LAGOS HAIRSTYLIST FATALLY ATTACKED IN SUSPECTED CULT-RELATED INCIDENT
A popular hairstylist in Lagos, identified as Sebastine Timothy, was tragically shot dead by suspected cultists in the Satellite Town area of the state.
According to sources, Timothy was attacked shortly after returning home from work on Sunday night along Olasanoye Street. The assailants reportedly broke into his apartment, dispossessed him of his belongings, and transferred an undisclosed sum of money from his bank account before shooting him in the head. Neighbors who heard the gunshots later discovered his lifeless body.
An online platform known for exposing cult activities, Confra Naija, reported that the attack may have been linked to a feud between rival confraternities. The assailants, believed to be members of the Eiye confraternity, were allegedly targeting Timothy’s brother, a member of the Aye group, but turned on Timothy when they couldn’t locate his brother.
Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Adebisi, confirmed the incident but provided a slightly different account, stating that Timothy sustained a fatal head injury during an altercation with unidentified men. She added that it was not yet clear whether the wound was caused by a gunshot or machete.
The incident has once again raised concerns about rising cult-related violence in Lagos communities, highlighting the urgent need for improved security measures and community vigilance.
