The Lagos State Government has revealed plans to complete five major road projects within the Alimosho Local Government Area by the last quarter of 2025.

This initiative, according to the government, underscores its commitment to strengthening infrastructure and enhancing connectivity in Lagos’ most densely populated region.

The projects set for delivery include the ongoing rehabilitation of the Ijegun-Ijagemo Road, and the construction of the Ile Eja road network—covering Ile Eja, Olaiya, Ajibola Hassan-Alhaji Mustapha, Olu Adeyanju (with a bridge), and Rabiatu Ogedengbe—as well as the Akesan-Igando Road.

During a site inspection on Tuesday, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Infrastructure, Olufemi Daramola, expressed satisfaction with the progress and quality of work. He emphasized that the projects align with the state’s broader transportation and connectivity master plan.

A statement issued on Wednesday highlighted that these roads are being developed with supporting infrastructure, including drainage systems, pedestrian walkways, and streetlights. These enhancements aim to cut travel time, boost mobility, and improve daily life for residents.

Daramola also urged contractors to uphold quality standards and meet the project deadlines.

Community leaders praised the government’s efforts and appealed for the Ijegun-Ijagemo Road to be extended to link the LASU-Ojo Expressway, thereby improving regional connectivity.

Meanwhile, Alex Tang-Li, Managing Director of the company constructing the 5km dual carriageway at Ijegun-Ijagemo, assured that the project would be completed with modern amenities by November.

According to the government, the road upgrades will help decongest traffic in the Alimosho area and stimulate economic growth within the locality.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
