LAGOS GOVERNMENT DENIES REPLACING KAI WITH NURTW IN ENVIRONMENTAL ENFORCEMENT

The Lagos State Government has denied reports claiming that the Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI) enforcement unit has been replaced with members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (National Union of Road Transport Workers).

Officials described the reports as misleading, stressing that there has been no policy change regarding the structure or responsibilities of environmental enforcement in the state.

According to the government, KAI remains fully operational and continues to carry out its mandate of enforcing environmental laws and maintaining public order.

Authorities urged residents to disregard the viral claims, noting that misinformation can create unnecessary tension and confusion among the public.

The clarification comes amid widespread discussions on social media following speculation about changes in enforcement operations in Lagos State.

Government representatives reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining discipline, environmental sanitation, and effective law enforcement across the state.

They also advised media platforms and individuals to verify information before sharing it to prevent the spread of false narratives.

The state government reiterated that all enforcement agencies remain under official supervision and continue to operate within established guidelines.
