LAGOS DEMOLISHES 17 BUILDINGS, SEALS 52 OVER PLANNING VIOLATIONS
The government of Lagos has demolished 17 buildings and sealed 52 others following alleged violations of physical planning regulations.
Officials from the state’s physical planning authority said the enforcement exercise was carried out to ensure compliance with approved building standards and urban development laws.
According to authorities, the affected structures were identified as either lacking proper approvals, violating setback regulations, or being constructed in restricted areas.
The government noted that the action is part of ongoing efforts to restore order in the state’s rapidly expanding urban environment and prevent building collapses and environmental risks.
Property owners were urged to obtain necessary permits before construction and to adhere strictly to approved development plans to avoid sanctions.
The enforcement exercise is expected to continue as the state intensifies monitoring of construction activities across various districts.
Officials reaffirmed their commitment to safe, orderly, and sustainable urban development in Lagos State.
