The Lagos State Pension Commission (LASPEC) has announced an online verification exercise for eligible retirees under the Defined Benefit Scheme, running from October 26 to November 25, 2026.

The exercise covers retired heads of service, permanent secretaries, and pensioners under the Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) and the Civil Service Pension Office (CSPO).

LASPEC Director-General, Babalola Obilana, urged affected pensioners to complete the verification within the announced period.

According to the commission, the exercise will help update pensioners’ records and confirm their eligibility under the Defined Benefit Scheme, also known as the Pay-As-You-Go system.

The process will take place entirely online. Pensioners have therefore been advised to complete it remotely rather than visit the commission’s office.

Each category of pensioners will use its designated verification portal. Retired heads of service and permanent secretaries will use the LASPEC platform, while TESCOM and CSPO pensioners will access their respective platforms.

To begin, participants must complete a two-step login validation using their Oracle number and surname. Once logged in, they should select the self-service option and follow the instructions displayed on the screen to finish the exercise.

Affected retirees are encouraged to complete the process before the November 25 deadline to ensure their records are updated.
